Established in 1987, our non-profit network of community mediation centers offers constructive processes for conflict resolution that are designed to strengthen relationships and build connections, empowering people to resolve conflict peacefully with productive communication and mutual respect.
Different Services for Different Needs
Our Centers offer a wide range of mediation and conflict resolution services to address different types of disputes. Not all disputes come to Centers in the same way: Depending on the situation, some may be referred to a Center by the court system or schools; others are self-referred, meaning that someone involved in the dispute asks the Center for mediation services.
Services for Court-Referred Disputes
Generally referred by District Attorneys, Judges, Law Enforcement Officers, Court Counselors, or government agencies

Generally referred by school administration, such as School Resource Officers, School Social Workers

About Us
The Mediation Network of North Carolina’s mission is to promote, strengthen, and support community mediation programs in NC, enriching families, communities, and schools through programs that encourage peaceful conflict resolution and productive, respectful communication.
Community mediation offers an alternative to prolonged litigation in court and destructive confrontation or violence, while giving people an opportunity to take part in the resolution of their dispute and have control over the outcome.
